still in peak formZ returns with all the zest, hilarity and competent monster killing prowess as he and the gang have ever had。
Antoine Robert,
Top Notch!Really had a blast with this one! Lots of action, as expected with Larry Correia, lots of funny moments, some really unexpected twists (I totally admit I didn't see the very last one coming)。。。Ending on a cliffhanger means, of course, that I can't wait for the next book。。。 Which happens quite often with Larry's books。 Highly recommended。 Top Notch!Really had a blast with this one! The endingyeah, this is good! the ending is something。 highly recommended。 Larry, you magnificent guy! You did it again! Now, I have to wait for the next book。
Jon Glenn,
Very high HSQProbably the highest Holy Shit Quotient of any of the Monster Hunter International books。 So many dropped hints and minor asides throughout the previous books pay off big in this one。
Linda D。 Standow,
An excellently told installment, but too many detailed fight scenes for my taste。I am a big fan of MHI, and do not believe Larry Correia and co-authors could write a bad book about this group of Hunters。 That said, I am not a big fan of long, detailed fight scenes, over and over and over。 Obviously, some are great, but I prefer more actual character interaction and storybuilding over nee fight scene after another。 Now, I know a lot of people really enjoy this, and again, a few are okay, but 。 。 An excellently told installment, but too many detailed fight scenes for my taste。I am a big fan of MHI, and do not believe Larry Correia and co-authors could write a bad book about this group of Hunters。 That said, I am not a big fan of long, detailed fight scenes, over and over and over。 Obviously, some are great, but I prefer more actual character interaction and storybuilding over nee fight scene after another。 Now, I know a lot of people really enjoy this, and again, a few are okay, but 。 。 。 。 Also, it has been a long time since the last book, and without going back and rereading the last two books, I am a little fuzzy on some of the detailed it was assumed I would clearly remember。 I have probably read 150 books since the last MHI, and would have appreciated a brief synopsis。 This is a big complaint I have with a long, ongoing series with months and months in between books。 I really debated between three and four stars, but since I am looking forward to the continuation, made it four。 The low-star-count reviewers all have very valid points, tho。 。。。more
Keri,
LC continues to delight and amaze with his fun and always on the edge of your seat action with the MHI crew。 Of course Owen, Julie and Franks hold a special place in my heart, but sometimes it is the little guys that steal the show, such as the little soldier mice。 However I must say that my favorite thus far is everyone's favorite slogoth, Mr。 Trashbag。 Yep folks if you loved him in Julie's story, he has a small but very important roll here as well。 He tried to steal the show。。。。again。 I hope l LC continues to delight and amaze with his fun and always on the edge of your seat action with the MHI crew。 Of course Owen, Julie and Franks hold a special place in my heart, but sometimes it is the little guys that steal the show, such as the little soldier mice。 However I must say that my favorite thus far is everyone's favorite slogoth, Mr。 Trashbag。 Yep folks if you loved him in Julie's story, he has a small but very important roll here as well。 He tried to steal the show。。。。again。 I hope later on that LC does a novella adventure with just Mr。 Trashbag and Roy Jr and the trouble they get up to。 That would be so much fun。 If you love the MHI world, don't miss this important story ARC read and yes it does end in somewhat of a cliffhanger。 。。。more
Becky Ames,
Excellent read。 Fast paced, great characters with lots of verbal word play, and plenty of action, adventure。 Reading it was like eating chocolate, hard to stop and put down。
Markus Matthews,
Awesome as always!Honestly, reviews for the eighth book of a series, in my humble opinion, are a bit of waste; by now you either like the series or you don’t。 I doubt a review is going to change your mind one way or another。The one concern I had about the book was the there was a lot going on with the synopsis for the book on Amazon and I was worried the story was going to ‘jump the shark。’Thankfully, the author pulled in all the different elements seamlessly and the book was just as great as ot Awesome as always!Honestly, reviews for the eighth book of a series, in my humble opinion, are a bit of waste; by now you either like the series or you don’t。 I doubt a review is going to change your mind one way or another。The one concern I had about the book was the there was a lot going on with the synopsis for the book on Amazon and I was worried the story was going to ‘jump the shark。’Thankfully, the author pulled in all the different elements seamlessly and the book was just as great as others in the series。Can’t wait for the next one。 。。。more
Felix,
Another great read。 Brain candy Galore!
Michael,
what a endingThis book is part one but it is a good one with decent flow and good story just can’t stand a new character in it even when they were a hero 。 But it is action packed and it does have a decent story line 。 There will be new characters added to this story so be on the lookout for them 。 And a character will be returning to the story line that you would of not be expecting!
Chris Wahl,
Great to have Z back in the saddle LC does a great job with this book ending the last Staley arc and setting up a new one。 The book is a lot more fighting and a lot less story and is a bit short for him。 I hope the next book gets more into the plot。 Also, the new character is not like able…。 At all。 Like I was hoping Stricken would just end her for the ward stone by the end。
Blake Hiatt,
Actually only 5 stars, but, I found the book to be thoroughly engaging。 And, it's nice to know Mr。 Correia has plans for another installment in the series。A fun distraction in a world that is sadly lacking them。 Actually only 5 stars, but, I found the book to be thoroughly engaging。 And, it's nice to know Mr。 Correia has plans for another installment in the series。A fun distraction in a world that is sadly lacking them。 。。。more

Sooo good!!!This book was wonderful。 It had loving family sections, wonderful action, and surprises。 Could not put this awesome book down!!! So ready for the next book。
Susan Seifert,
Great storyAs a fan of the monster hunter international books, I look forward to the continuation of this story! So inventive and entertaining!
Marcus,
Fun but simple。 Nice to have a meeting entry in the series but wish there was a little more meat, intensity, and heart at this point to keep driving things forward。 Seems like this book was just a setup for the next。 Kind of an appetizer when I’d prefer a full meal。
Juan,
Stricken, Stricken, Stricken 。 。 。 Sorry for my language, but he is a huge fucking asshole, but quite possibly the smartest huge fucking asshole that has ever lived。Want to know more, read the book!
Carter,
OmgStricken revealed at last。 Wow。 Not what I was expecting at all。 Congratulations Mr Correia you surprised me entirely。 We done。
Chris McCullen,
Buckets of thumbs up。Once again a read a book in just a few hours。 Can't put it down just doesn't cover how good this fiction is to me。 My wife says that I just disappear。 The characters, pacing and tone are all second to none。 The world building and mythology are so believable and consistent。 I wish Correia wrote text books, I would learn so much faster。 Looking forward to the next book and future movie。 Buckets of thumbs up Buckets of thumbs up。Once again a read a book in just a few hours。 Can't put it down just doesn't cover how good this fiction is to me。 My wife says that I just disappear。 The characters, pacing and tone are all second to none。 The world building and mythology are so believable and consistent。 I wish Correia wrote text books, I would learn so much faster。 Looking forward to the next book and future movie。 Buckets of thumbs up 。。。more

Geez, Larry。 Way to end a story abruptly。 I thought there was something wrong with my Kindle when it wouldn't go to the next page!Either way, clearly we're getting into the next phase of the overall story, which is great! Series still keeping binge readingGood story line, good twists hate the cliffhanger🤭 hope he gets the next book done quickly this time… like tomorrow
Seantheaussie,
Bloody and brutal fun, as is usual for MHI。
Todd,
There's a feeling of coming home when I read a MHI novel。 All the people are like old friends, even Franks。 Larry Correia has unveiled another enjoyable book in this series。 Even though plenty of stuff is going on, it's still basically a set up for the next one。 There's a feeling of coming home when I read a MHI novel。 All the people are like old friends, even Franks。 Larry Correia has unveiled another enjoyable book in this series。 Even though plenty of stuff is going on, it's still basically a set up for the next one。 。。。more
Nick,
A great chapter with lots of action and the story continues apace。 Despite all this though it felt like we didnt get enough this time to feel like the story truly progressed in a meaningful way。 But fun stills。
Launce H,
Correia does it againDeath is over rated, and not something to keep a good man down。I was not sure that they could merge the Dingo story in, or if they even would。 I was happily surprised to see if not only was done, but done exceedingly well。A must read for fans of the series。。。 Or anyone else that wants a good yarn。 4 thumbs up, granted I might need to borrow two from Franks。
Ted,
Shackleford history enlargedThe amazing story line started in Monster Hunter InternationaI continues。 Owen is only one of The Chosen making this quest his newest duty。
Marina Gaston,
As always, Larry delivers a fun filled, action packed narrative connecting loose bits and expanding character arcs。 Sadly, it is a work up to the next book and left me hanging。
Christopher,
Good as alwaysGood as always。 Loved the meme references。 I would say this one is my favorite except for the first one。

Ryan Burt,
I do truly enjoy the Monster Hunter series。 This one was right up with the rest of them。 Well worth a read。 It does end on a bit of a cliffhanger but the 400 pages here certainly justify the purchase。 Guess I will have to wait until book 9。
